Emmy CulleyBorn in West Bromwich, England in 1966 I have a creative nature and live for my art.  I attended Stafford College of Fine Art and later Birmingham University where I studied Fine Art, Jewellery-Making and Engraving.  However, storytelling has always been my passion; it's in my Celtic blood!  I enjoy weaving enticing yarns that will hopefully captivate and entertain readers, taking them away from the stresses of daily life on journeys of pure escapism.

I spend most of my time with my family which means the world to me, especially my son Tadhg.  I live in Middle England but have travelled extensively; Tadhg was born in Germany and I became a single mother shortly after.  Whilst Tadhg was at home with me I trained as a masseuse specialising in aromatherapy.  My interest in Holistic Therapies led me to learn Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I've enjoyed a successful if sporadic modelling career, taken part in music videos, had cameo roles in a couple of obscure movies (one of my childhood ambitions was to become a Hammer Horror actress!!) and appeared on TV several times.

I've learnt from traumatic life experiences and often draw on them to take my readers on a roller coaster ride of emotions, sometimes horrific and shocking.  My novels are historical fiction and when I write, I immerse myself in my characters' personalities.  This helps me to portray realistic and believable people.  I enjoy researching the historical period that I'm writing about and imagining the aura of the time.

My novel, 'A Heavy Chest of Dreams' is the first book of an exciting trilogy.  I'm in the process of writing its sequel and my readers tell me that they're eagerly awaiting its publication.  I'd love to write a best seller and my dream would be for my son to make movies inspired by my stories.  I hope that my books will someday reach and entertain many people and have global success.

'A Heavy Chest of Dreams' is available from Amazon and all other good online book stores. Also available to download for Kindle devices.
