'I'm so happy 'cos today I found my friends in my head' Kurt Cobain

Saturday 23rd July 2011

I'm now 45 years of age and feeling very positive about my story telling.  I've been working hard lately writing book 2 in my trilogy and it's coming along well... Now I'm totally engrossed in the sad and sickening tale and feel like I'm actually living the hell that I put my poor characters through daily!

I've enjoyed the days I've not been in my usual 'hermit writer mode' and visited some great places including Warwick Castle here in England.  There, I arranged for a close encounter with some beautiful birds of prey and my son actually 'flew' them.  We were able to handle an American bald eagle, a hawk (my fave bird of prey), an owl and a golden eagle.

This owl didn't stop screeching!                                                 Tadhg with a magnificent American Bald eagle

The whole experience was wonderful and it made a pleasant change for me to enjoy the birds without having to pose in photo shoot :)

Warwick castle is amongst my favourite historical buildings to visit here in England and the day was made even more special when we came across King Henry VIII in the grand hall.  The actor who played the part of the cruel, womanising king was very skilled and gave the best (and funniest) performance as the young Tudor king that I've ever seen.  Here's a link to his website which is well worth a visit: http://www.tonythecompere.co.uk/
